Is Bigger Better?

This neighborhood began with modest sized houses.  It has become "gentrified"  and it seems residents are unwilling to live in the modest originals.

This house for instance started life as the small part in front, added a wing in back and then another, and then a whole nother house!

This one added wings on both sides.

This one started its life as a large house, and then grew again!

Hopeless???

I first caught the word "HOPE"  on this bench.  On second look realized it was "DON'T HOPE".  I can't read the rest of the words, but I'm hoping that it turns around again to a positive spin.

This child has been holding his shell in the rose garden since 1950.

Stop and smell the roses.

The Raleigh rose garden gives ample opportunity.

And many benches to use for contemplation.

Bananas in Raleigh?

Yes.  I don't know how well they grow, but these bananas were fruiting in the rose garden.

Raleigh Rose Garden

The Raleigh Municipal Rose Garden was nearly deserted on an almost rainy day.  The roses didn't mind the weather.

A few people didn't mind the weather either.
