Stay a little longer
Going back to Shelly lake, we found the same great egret in the same place. He must have decided he likes it here.

The Canals are alive
Great Egret
During a recent trip to Hatteras Island we were amazed at the number of wading birds in the sound.
Green Heron
Tricolored Heron
And hidden in the grasses, Egret meets Heron.

Great Egret
The Great Egret is hard to see in the picture, but his reflection in the water is easier to see. He was hiding out on the edge of the mill pond at Yates mill.
