Eclipse

The eclipse was nowhere near Raleigh, but we still had fun.
A vegetable steamer acted as a pinhole camera with hundreds of little suns.

The shadow of leaves gave us sun shaped patches of light.

The steamer made shadows that looked like a henna tattoo.

93%

Raleigh was in 93% of the eclipse yesterday.  We opted to skip the cardboard glasses and a long drive into South Carolina to see  a total eclipse.  Instead we looked through a pin hole at home.  My daughter sent me this picture, through a colander.

The leaves acted like a pin hole also, making little suns all over the deck and on the sidewalk.

The pinhole itself was a little bit hard to photograph.

But there was no way to actually get a picture of the sun without a good filter.
