Can you spot the bird?

There's a reason why sparrows are brown and stripy.

Song sparrow

The forest was quiet, but filled with song sparrows.  Why weren't they singing?

Little Brown Birds

There were little brown birds flitting in the meadow.  They moved fast and hid in the tall grass. It was hard to see who they were.

Finally I caught one looking over the grass...Song Sparrows!

Little Mama

This little song sparrow was feeding her big cowbird baby.  Sadly, cowbirds are parasitic and lay their eggs in other birds' nests.  This large cowbird probably pushed the smaller sparrow babies out of the nest and left poor mama sparrow one large baby to feed.

Spirit

This little song sparrow was singing out so loudly that I was looking for a larger bird.
