The jaybirds were bouncing around in the dogwood tree.

Mama

First there was one egg in the nest, then three.  Now Mama cardinal will not leave her nest.  The nest is right next to the driveway, and she watches us cautiously whenever we're near.

Lilac

I didn't think lilacs could grow in the south.  But, here it is.  We must get just enough cold in the winter to make them happy.

It's Broughton High School, built in 1929 as Raleigh High school, the oldest high school in Raleigh.
