Happy Fourth of July!

This flag was flying in the wind at the Wright Brothers Memorial at Kill Devil Hill, NC.  The Wright Brothers chose Kill Devil Hill because of the reliable wind.  And yes, it's usually pretty windy.
Their flight was at Kill Devil Hill, but Kitty Hawk was the nearest telegraph office, and so got the credit.

A reproduction of the 1903 plane is inside the museum.

You can walk the path of the plane from the take off (the white rock on the far left) to flight 1, the first white rock, flight 2, and flight 3.  Then finally success, to the fourth rock way out on the far right.  The wooden buildings are reproductions of the living quarters and shop where Orville and Wilbur worked on the plane.
