Summer Garden

This time in the summer the garden is thriving.  Tomatoes are ripening faster than they can be eaten.

Peppers are starting to turn red.

Habaneros are beginning to look dangerous.

Cantaloupe is almost ready for picking.

And the same for the watermelon.

Beans are flowering for the last time.

Yay summer!

Trip to the Farmer's Market

On a visit to the State Farmer's Market, there was a lot of color.

And who knew there were so many kinds of eggplant!

There should be no mystery here, it's a tomato of course.

End of the garden

After a hot summer that stressed the tomato plants, and cabbage worms that ate the kale, fall has been bountiful.  Except the tomatoes are loaded with GREEN fruit that is slow to ripen.  And I pulled all but one of the kale plants out of frustration with the worms.  Hopefully some will ripen before a hard freeze, and I'll get maybe one serving of kale...?

The tomatoes and peppers are all ready at the Farmer's Market.  It's time to make Salsa!
