Raspberry season

The raspberries are blooming.  It will be a while for the berries.  The berries on the wild raspberries aren't very big or good eating.  For humans at least, the birds are happy with them.

Rasberry

The wild raspberries are blooming.
The fruit is tiny and the thorns are vicious, but the flowers are nice.

Wild Raspberries

Most of the wild raspberries I've seen are mostly all seeds.  This bunch looked like they might even be worth picking.  I think the birds will get them before they're ripe though.

Wild Raspberries

The wild Raspberries are blooming.  They are all over under the power lines, and on the side of the roads.  The berries are disappointingly small, and the bushes are very stickery.  Good for deer and other animals, not worth the pain of picking for humans.

But the flowers are pretty.

Wild Raspberries

A lot of the open areas under the power lines are filled with wild raspberries.  They're very small, and you'd have to pick a lot to get much out of them.  They're favorites of the birds though...
