Old cabin

This cabin has been preserved near the Yates Mill.
Here's a picture from the Library of Congress from 1938.  (see here)  Is it the same building?

Old homestead

We have walked this trail many times.  But this time I looked into the forest and saw some rocks that didn't look natural.

We tromped over and saw that it is an old chimney.  We traced the line of foundation stones around a very small cabin.
Who lived here?  Definitely a long time ago, the tree growing in the middle of the cabin is fairly big.

Hidden cabin

I've walked past this little cabin many times and never seen it.  I think that with the leaves off the trees and vines, it's finally visible from the greenway.

Theme day: Sensual

This seems like a strange theme to me.  But sensual means using your senses.  All pictures use the sense of sight, so that leaves the other 4 senses.  To me, this picture of the joints of a log cabin at Yates Mill depicts the sense of touch.
