Towhee

Towhees always look like they're spoiling for a fight.  They are a bird with an attitude.

The birds might fly south to us in the winter, but sometimes it gets cold here too.  This towhee found a sheltered spot in the bird feeder.

and even a Mourning Dove watching the show.

Towhee

The Towhees are everywhere right now, hopping around on the grass looking for bugs.  Their shrieking whistle is very distinctive, as is their coloring.
