This monarch butterfly found the right plant! Milkweed flowers must be tasty, there were many different bees and butterflies around. But for monarchs milkweed leaves are even more important. They are the only food for the monarch caterpillars. This butterfly was in the right place.
Good to see one back and doing what it needs to do, and having the milkweed avaiable. One of my favorite memories is having seen them wake up in a flock from an overnight roost in the trees in my backyard years ago while they were on migration.
