Vulture

A black vulture surveys the area from a dead tree.

 

Black Vulture

We watched a very big black bird fly through the trees.  Too big for a crow, and even too big for a raven.

It landed on an old tree and watched us pass.  A black vulture.  Amazingly ugly.

 This very tall cel tower was covered in vultures.  The one flying in is a turkey vulture, but there were black vultures as well. Birds of a feather flock together...?

Up on the roof

When this old world starts getting me down,

And people are just too much for me to face—

I climb way up to the top of the stairs

And all my cares just drift right into space ...

I don't think this is what Carole King had in mind.  6 Black Vultures visited one morning.  Sat for a while,

And then moved on.
