Neighborhood clean up

This lovely critter was cleaning up a dead squirrel in the neighbor's front yard.  I guess someone's got to do it.

By the way, if you are following by email, the widget I use, Feedburner, will stop working on July 1.  I haven't found another way send it out by email yet.  So June 30 will probably be the last email.  You can always see the posts at:

Snack time

The turkey vulture was busy having a nice squirrel snack when we walked by.

He flew up to a nearby rooftop to wait for us to pass by.

Windy fun

On windy days, Turkey Vultures circle round and round.  I think they're playing in the wind.

Visitor

I think you could call him a "friendly visitor".  The neighbors had a stinky dead rabbit in their yard.  Mr. Vulture came to check it out.

Ugly or Beautiful?

Why do they look so beautiful in the air, and so ugly up close.  The Turkey Vultures were having a great time on a windy day.

Vulture tower

This very tall cel tower was covered in vultures.  The one flying in is a turkey vulture, but there were black vultures as well. Birds of a feather flock together...?

Vulture on the lawn

Out walking the dog one evening, we came across two turkey vultures enjoying a dead squirrel on the neighbor's lawn.  They weren't very afraid of us or the dog although they did move onto the rooftop when we got really close.  As soon as we walked by, one of them came back and was at it again.

Three on a tree

First there was one Turkey Vulture on the tree, then two, and then three on the tree.  Makes you wonder who they were looking at.
