Woodland village

The sign led us from the children's play area to a little village.

A creepy arch led us farther in.

Passing by strange huts

Winding through the trees.

Maybe it's the woodland wiccan village...?

Who lives here?

We came across a little fairy village while walking in the woods.  It's more than a little creepy to me.

Fairy walk?

The trail was designated a Fairy walk.

It started out with a few gnomes in the woods.

It added things in the trees.

This one looked a little sinister.

It was the witches cauldron at the end that made me wonder.

Slightly creepy

I know that people build little fairy houses in the woods, and sometimes in their yards, but this is a little creepy.  We found her sitting on a stump just off one of the trails in Umstead State Park.

Fairy house

Annie Louise Wilkerson Nature Preserve has a play area for kids to build fairy houses.  They have to use natural materials, and they can't use living plants.  But there are some ornate little structures in the village.

The one below was built by my 4 year old granddaughter.
