Grand Chandelier

Walking around the latest exhibit at the NC Museum of Art, I thought they had a magnificent chandelier.  Until I looked closely.

It's an installation called: Luz de Plastico   by American artist, Willie Cole.   It is created out of thousands of single use water bottles.
It's part of an exhibit called Fault lines: Art and the Environment.  (see here).

Night light

I've been trying to take a picture of the moon, but it just comes out as a blurry blob.  Down in the corner of one of my moon failures, I found this street light.  I thought it looked interesting.

Chihuly?

My guess is this isn't Chihuly.  (see here)  We went into a sushi restaurant, looked up and saw 3 chandeliers.  They look like Chihuly, and the waiter said they were expensive, but looking online, there are a lot of blown glass lights for sale that are "Chihuly style."  They're very cool anyway.

Mardi Gras lights?

They might be left over Christmas lights, but I'm going with Mardi Gras lights.

Merry Christmas

Olaf the snowman has had a hard time this Christmas.  He broke free of his moorings on a breezy day, but he's back now to wish everyone a Merry Christmas!!!

Ho Ho

I don't know why I think this is so clever.  The lights are just strung out on some bushes, but I think the HO HO is cute.

Christmas lights revisited

It's very hard to take pictures of lights at night.  This is the same Christmas display as yesterday's post, but instead of trying to hold still, I just moved the camera on purpose.

Christmas lights

Some neighbors really love Christmas.  This house is decorated complete with a tree playing Christmas carols.  They do turn the display off later in the evening.  I'm sure the next door neighbors appreciate that.
