Mockingbird

This mockingbird was hiding out in the brush.

Mockingbirds like to sit on the highest point and observe their territory.  This one posed for me for a long time.

First we heard a cardinal's song, then a towhee, a robin and a chickadee.  Looking around we found him - a mocking bird calling to all his friends.

This guy was staking a claim to a berry bush on the Neuse River Greenway.  Mocking birds are very territorial!

Mocking birds must be very territorial.  This guy is always at the same street corner, high in a tree.  He angrily chirps and flicks his tail at us as we walk by.
