The art box sits on a busy corner. Most people see it as they drive by. I finally parked and took a good look. The art changes but right now it's a piece called Triple Delight. (see here).
This mural is called "Taking Wing," It covers both sides of the wall going down into the parking garage basement. It's hard to photograph since the traffic gets in the way. (See here)
It starts with a paper airplane.
Travels on.
Goes past a tree,
then crosses to the other side of the ramp, and becomes a biplane.
Developers are building tall residential/commercial buildings in North Hills. It might relieve the lack of housing in Raleigh, but I think it's going to be too upscale for most.
Looking at a fountain on a hot day is very soothing. It doesn't seem so hot if you can see water splashing. It's hard to keep little kids from climbing in though. We saw a few little ones in wet cloths as we walked through North Hills.
North Hills mall seems more like a small city for shoppers. There are small shops on several blocks of streets along with large stores like Target and JC Penney. Also there are lots of restaurants and of course three different Starbucks.
