Bridge sign

I've often walked past this sign on the pedestrian bridge, but a friend suggested I take a picture.  Looking closely, I can see what a great bridge it is: Steadfast Bridges, Maximum Load 5 tons (that would be a large pedestrian) build by Built to Last Products inc.  Very comforting as you walk across!

Raleigh founded

I puzzled over this sign, painted on the side of a downtown building.  I thought they weren't done and needed to add a date...

No, it's the name of a shared workspace in the building. (see here)

 

Raleigh welcome

I often pass this sign painted on the side of a pizza place and always say that I'll stop and take a picture.  It was originally painted in response to the horrible and embarrassing "bathroom bill"  that our legislature passed and then finally rescinded.  It has become an icon for downtown Raleigh (see here and here)

 

Watchful eyes

While I was checking out the rock garden, this little lizard was checking me out.

 

What's wrong with this picture?

Is this a test to see if people pay attention to signs?

Maybe just turn off the drinking fountain...

 

Do not hook turtles!

This sign was posted on the fishing pier at Durant Nature Park.  You'd think that you wouldn't need to be told that, but the turtles hang out around the pier.  Probably looking for a hand out.

 

Watch out for the little guys

I know turtles, snakes and frogs are wildlife, but they just don't seem as exciting as a jumping deer on a sign.

Walking along the public greenway we came upon this sign going into the adjacent neighborhood.  Not very friendly, I think.

Children at Play...NOT

 

The playgrounds are still closed, causing a lot of tears in the younger crowd.

They've even padlocked the swings so no one cheats.

This sign took me a while to figure out.  I think it means do not spray weedkiller...?

Sign of the times

The signs were up, the playground was closed.  But the parking lot was full.  Families were out walking on the hiking trails around Wilkerson Nature Preserve.  I think they've all had enough togetherness time.

Best signs

The signs at the march this year were less creative and more political.  Bernie Bros were there as well as signs for Bloomberg and Yang.  But there were a few good ones in the mix...

Stuck in traffic, I read this notice on the back window of a cab.  They think of everything.

There is a bill in Congress to make hospitals post their fees.  Will their list look something like this?

Mountains to Sea

Blue Jay Point Park is a stop on the Mountains to Sea Trail (here)  The trail runs 1175 miles from the Great Smokey Mountains to the sea at Jockey's Ridge State Park on the Outer Banks.  You can see most of the state along the way.

Googly eyes

There's a new sign at the Durant Nature Park explaining fishing regulations.  Someone added a few googly eyes on the fish.
