Theme day-Mirrors

The Theme for March is Mirror reflection.

The Mirror Labyrinth at the NC Museum of Art is a great place to play with reflections.

 

Eagles

The eagle pair is back fixing up the nest at Shelly Lake.  

 

Misty morning

The lake was steaming in the morning sun.

 

Hungry Hawk

The hawk was watching a group of mergansers swim by.  

 

Art wolf

Every time I walk past the art center I look for the art wolf.  He stands outside the window looking in.  I wonder what he sees in there.

The cormorants were standing at attention.

A kingfisher flies low across the lake.

Spring is on its way.  The first of the flowering trees have started blooming.

Happy Valentine's Day

Love is in the air, and on the wall at Marbles children's museum.

 

Marbles

Marbles is a children's museum in downtown Raleigh.  

Great for kids, but difficult to drag them out when it's time to go home.

The pirate ship is a favorite.

 

Heronry

The herons are back in their nests at Shelly Lake.  Some trees held as many as 4 nests high in their branches.

A morning moon.  

 

Smiling faces

This smiling face hides a sewer vault.

 

Playing catch up

This little killdeer was running along the spit.  I think he was trying to join his friends at the end of the spit.

 

Bridge sign

I've often walked past this sign on the pedestrian bridge, but a friend suggested I take a picture.  Looking closely, I can see what a great bridge it is: Steadfast Bridges, Maximum Load 5 tons (that would be a large pedestrian) build by Built to Last Products inc.  Very comforting as you walk across!
