Momma cardinal started her family in a vine arbor.  She must have decided that it wasn't the right place and left her nest and eggs.  We haven't seen her for a while.

The weather changed overnight from 70 degrees to snowing.  The birds just hunkered down in the trees.

This young cardinal had an attitude.

First there was one egg in the nest, then three.  Now Mama cardinal will not leave her nest.  The nest is right next to the driveway, and she watches us cautiously whenever we're near.

This cardinal camped out on the feeder.  The little birds gave him a wide berth.

This is my entry, not exactly white but it seemed like a white world (last December), except for a visiting red bird.

There are a lot of stories about what a sighting of a cardinal means.  A messenger from the spirit world? A visit from a deceased loved one?  A nearby angel?

Well I just think they're beautiful birds.
